A science teacher once took a group of students to the laboratory to show how a butterfly emerges out of its chrysalis. He gave them instructions to just watch and not touch it and left to some other work.

All the students watched with wonder and excitement. The butterfly was making great efforts to free itself from the chrysalis. It was taking very long and it had still not come out. One of the boys lost patience and slit the chrysalis with a razor blade to set the butterfly free. But sadly, the butterfly soon died. On coming back, the teacher scolded the boy, and then explained, what had gone wrong. "Nature has its own unique ways and we should never interfere with it. While striving to free itself, the wings of the butterfly actually become strong and later help in its struggle for survival. It is a long and a patient struggle. You stopped the natural process and saw the consequences for yourself."
